提供 3D 共軛焦影像觀察, 適用於 Leica DM LM  ( DM RM ) 系列. ( 亦可使用於其他廠牌顯微鏡 ).  

Confocal implies the dealing with information in focus. The OptiGrid captures all the image data residing within the depth of field along with all out-of-focus signals coming from the parent optical system. Using a phase sampling technique, software eliminates all signals not within the plane of focus. You can think of this processed image slice as an optical section whose thickness is the depth of focus of the patent optical system. These slices are digital files and may be sorted or transmitted as usual.

With the addition of software driven focus, sequential clear and crisp slices may be taken. These slices can then be overlaid to form a complete image that is free from spurious signals and not limited to a single frame of focus. With third party software, these slices can be built into a 3D model of the object in question. In a parent system of sufficiently shallow depth of field, it is possible to use the combination of crisp image planes and computerized focus to measure distance in the Z-axis to reasonable degree of accuracy
