Leica
CW4000 karyotyping application provides a
breakthrough in cytogenetic image quality.
With up to 12 Mpixel image resolution, more
detail is evident than in comparable images
captured with standard video CCD technology.
Leica CW4000 Karyotyping offers:
Highest possible resolution images for
Karyotyping. Fast efficient, accurate
karyotyping enhanced by superior
segmentation tools, and neural network
classification techniques. This ensures
unrivalled accuracy, saving you time whilst
increasing throughput. No
requirement to delete background during
thresholding (detection of chromosome
boundaries). CW4000 handles images
intelligently – this means that there is
no risk of permanent deletion of telomeres
and satellites by "over thresholding",
and you gain total confidence in your
results. Human and non human karyotyping
included as standard – no need to buy an
extra module for Research projects.
Karyogram layouts are included for rat,
mouse, cattle, wheat, pig and human. New
layouts are simple to generate. The
ability to effortlessly karyotype FISH
images (either human or non human) using the
inverted counterstain image (requires CGH
option). Extereme Ratio Detection - allows
the operator to display only red/green
pixels from a fluorochrome above or below
certain intensity (ratio) levels. This can
be used in Cross Species painting
experiments to examine the image for areas
of homology between two different species.
Extensive karyotyping enhancement and
presentation tools, presented in a logical,

CW4000 FISH ( Fluorescence In-situ
Hybridization )
|
Fluorescence
image acquisition and advanced analysis
tools for cytogeneticists are provided by
the Leica CW4000 FISH application. Optional
high resolution imaging provides total
confidence in your results, whether for
standard FISH assays or the capture of
images for in-depth CGH or MFISH analysis.
Further flexibility is provided by Z-Stack
capture and processing, allowing the
accurate display of probe signals for tissue
and interphase samples. Leica CW4000 FISH
provides:
- Acquisition
facilities for up to 8 image planes,
allowing the capture of combinatorial
MFISH and CGH images.
- MFISH
metaphase analysis tools which are
adaptable to different combinatorial
labelling schemes.
- The
ability to import .tif images from any
original source for further analysis.
- Full
compatibility with karyotyping
applications to allow flexible
karyotyping of 2, 3 or multi-colour
images.
- Maximum
sensitivity and absolute registration
where required, in the production of
multi-probe fluorescent images.

The
combination of accurate karyotyping with
advanced CGH analysis tools, provides the
most powerful CGH system commercially
available. Additionally, the incorporation
of digital camera technology delivers
unrivalled high resolution CGH analysis,
whilst the streamlined karyotyping tools
make the system suitable for research and
routine studies. Leica CW4000 CGH offers:

through simultaneous multiple displays.

|
The
Leica CW4000 MFISH application is a
versatile, leading edge analysis tool which
reflects the need for a flexible multi-colour
imaging system, as highlighted by recent
developments in MFISH technology.
The applications flexibility is shown in
it's proven ability to:
- Analyse
samples from combinatorial labelling
schemes using 5, 6 or 7 fluorochromes.
- Study
whole chromosomes, telomeres or specific
regions of chromosomes.
- Adapt
to the study of samples from any species
- An
image to be displayed as a metaphase,
karyogram, classification or a rendered
coloured image.
- Dynamic
separation of touching and overlapping
chromosomes.
- The
classification of each pixel according
to a combinatorial labelling scheme.
- Simultaneous
display of all fluorochrome components
from selected chromosomes.
- Probe
meter indication of relative
fluorochrome intensities and chromosome
classification at selected pixels.

The
Leica CW4000 Satellite Capture Station
incorporates a computer workstation, monitor
and full image acquisition facilities for
brightfield applications, to allow
acquisition and subsequent metaphase
analysis to be performed. Captured images
are exported and archived across the network
using Cybase, the internal patient database,
to allow full accessibility and
interactivity with the images. Leica CW4000
SatCap gives you :
- An
economical network solution for
cytogenetics laboratories.
- A
dynamic solution that effectively
improves laboratory throughput.
- The
ability to archive images directly to
the Leica CW4000 database for retrieval
and review at a later date.
