The
Titley AnaBat II
Bat Detector
is designed as
part of a system that can permanently
record the signals of bats for
computer analysis (using the AnaBat V
ZCA Interface Module and Software),
either in the field or later in the
laboratory. Its function is to convert
the ultrasonic echolocation signals of
bats into audible electronic signals
which can be recorded and processed,
to assist in identification of the
species. The Bat Detector can be used
in one hand, allowing control of a
tape recorder, addition of
commentaries, and calibration tones.
It can also be linked with the AnaBat
Delay Switch or Universal Timer for
remote recording, a feature that
allows many units to operate
automatically in the absence of the
researcher. Alternatively, the Bat
Detector can be used entirely on its
own, for simple detection of bats.
